I thought this was an interesting article, as it can potentially help parents that cannot afford to spend extra money on an agency.
However using an agency is usually best, as we do background investigations that parents may not be able to have access to, or potentially parents do not do a screening as deeply, because they are unaware of which criminal investigation to check. County -vs- state criminal investigations are very different from one another, and the data base they check might not be as updated as it should be!
Its always best to use a reputable agency...
