Rob Lowe Sues Both his Nannies and Personal Chef

Although its celebrity hoo-ha, I suppose this new "news" warrants some attention from us...

Nannies are hired as professional caregivers and although it is difficult to not become "entwined " within the fabric of our employers lives, we have to remember that we have to follow a level of professional conduct in which clearly has us separated from our employers.

Now we really have no idea what went on in the Lowe's household, however as many of us work inside of our clients homes, and ultimately want to become a "member of the family", we have to remain distant on many levels as so not to pass judgement on our employees life styles and make comments to other staff members that we might work with, regarding our personal thoughts. Big no-no.

If you as a nanny feel that you are being treated unfairly, or you are in a situation in which you are not happy, you need to be responsible enough to COMMUNICATE that to the parents and bring it to the table! If the matter cannot be resolved, find another family!!

As professional nannies our job is to show up on time, love the children with all of our heart, create the most appropriate environment for the child and follow any parents lead, including following their rules and regulations of their house. Not knowing what type of "treatment" this nanny went through, as we can only speculate, we still should pay attention to the dynamic of what a nanny/employer relationship should and should not be!

Lets face it, Nanny-dom is not a 9-5 behind a desk, however, its not a "lets make a best friend out of our parents" we work for either.
